OUR ADVOCACY
Turning Riding in to Action
West Valley Trail Alliance has been a west Phoenix trail advocate since 2009. We began as a small group of mountain bikers seeking better trail experiences close to home. Since then we have evolved significantly.
We became an official International Mountain Bicycling Association Chapter in 2015 and a 501c3 non-profit organization. We have performed hundreds of trail building hours and advocated for new and improved trails within the Estrella and White Tank mountains.

NEW TRAIL AT ESTRELLA COMPETITIVE TRACK
Advocacy at work
After many years of work and the help of 4 grants. One each from IMBA DIg In and REI, and two from MBAA we finally did it. Two brand new trails built at the Estrella Competitive Track.
The plan was to create a slightly more beginner to intermediate friendly loop at the park. The existing trails were challenging and ridden primarily by advanced ridders. The new loop keeps the challenges in tact while creating a less technical option for beginner to intermediate riders.
We continue to work on behalf of the mountain biking community and improve the experience for all riders.

The West Valley Trail Alliance has successfully advocated for the Maricopa Trail to link multiple, previously isolated trail systems, via in person meetings such as this BLM meeting held in 2018.
