From trail builders to advocates
OUR FIRST DAB INTO THE DIRT...
What began as humble trail builders seeking a quality riding experience close to home, began to change into something much bigger than any of those making the first cuts into the desert soil could have imagined.
A few dedicated riders and trail builders created Fantasy Island North Singletrack or lovingly known as FINS. This tightly knit weave of singletrack is known throughout the Phoenix metro area and was even featured in Mountain Bike Action Magazine.
THE LOSS OF ACCESS...
From their the trails began to grow and word got out of handbuilt singletrack in the west valley. Trail building began in earnest by dedicated volunteers.
Unfortunately, the building became to over zealous. A portion of trail on private land encroached onto nearby Estrella Mountain Regional Park. Trails were closed and tempers flared at the loss of access.
